Realise that at some point in your browsing history, you clicked an add you should not have, or maybe installed a piece of freeware, or even visited an untoward website. You were not to know at the time but these are the gateways to spyware and adware installing itself on your pc.
The first of the two free methods for removing spyware and adware is something you may not have even realised was possible and it works like a charm. Basically you want to be making use of your system restore function in the system tools folder. Try to make a note of roughly when your pc started to act a little glitchy and roll back the system to a date a month or so before that. Don't worry if there is not an exact save point, there will be points added by your operating system automatically. Make sure however, to back up any data that is important to you. Although system restore does not usually wipe such things, it is better to be safe than sorry.
The ultimate way of getting rid of spyware, and this way is more often than not, far better than any paid methods, is.....yes you guessed it, the full reformat and reinstall of your computer's entire operating system. Now, dont panic, it is an extreme measure but look at it this way, most of the process is automatic, just a few clicks of the mouse and a few hours of your time, your pc will literally fly like the wind when you start it up again and of course, there will be no trace of adware or spyware. JUST MAKE SURE YOU BACK EVERYTHING UP before you do.
In future, take a little more caution before you click an add close button, if the little cross in the top right corner still keeps your on screen arrow turned into a hand, the whole thing is an active link to something not entirely trustworthy. Or maybe you should read the small print the next time you prepare to install some freeware.By: Dave NevardArticle Directory: http://www.articledashboard.comSpyware and adware can cause more trouble than you realise, arm yourself with the know how to avoid it.
